We’re thrilled to announce that Infinity Properties’ Heart & Soul Program is officially a stand-alone charitable foundation! As we celebrate this latest chapter, we’re reflecting on how it all started—and setting an ambitious course for our future.
Giving intentionally from the beginning
For Heart & Soul founders Petra and Tim Bontkes, giving back is an important part of everyday life. Growing up in Christian families, they learned that supporting those in need is never an afterthought; instead, giving back is an intentional act—and it’s one of the most important things we can do in our communities. So when Petra and Tim founded their development company, Infinity Properties, they prioritized giving and established Heart & Soul to formalize their commitment.
Over the years, the corporate giving program at Infinity has supported causes both large and small. Organized around three pillars of sponsorship, volunteering and donation matching, Heart & Soul is a flexible and nimble program that helps the Infinity team contribute to the causes that are close to their hearts. Over the years, Petra and Tim saw an opportunity to make an even greater impact in the community by turning Heart & Soul into a stand-alone foundation. This could create an even greater opportunity for them to do more for those who needed it most.
Creating positive change—for generations to come
Heart & Soul’s mission is to create opportunities to give back to those in need both locally and abroad. We increase awareness for meaningful causes and create a legacy of giving for generations to come. And for us, establishing that legacy is one of the most critical parts of what we do.
We believe that giving back is a powerful thing—and not just for those receiving support. When we look for opportunities to share our blessings and help those less fortunate, it shifts our perspective. It opens our eyes and changes the way we see the world for the better. Giving can encourage us to see the best in others, and Heart & Soul is a chance for us to lead by example. We’re striving to create a platform that makes a difference today—and shows the importance of giving back to future generations.
What’s next for Heart & Soul
The Heart & Soul foundation now has a dedicated board to oversee its operations and impact. As Executive Director, Petra Bontkes steers our day-to-day work and ensures that everything we do aligns with our mission and purpose. Tim Bontkes works to set and implement our overarching strategy and direction and develops our investment objectives and policies. And, Norman Rousseu oversees our cash flow planning, prepares budgets and tracks our operational metrics. Together, the board is working to build lasting relationships with donors and causes, helping them raise awareness and create change in the community.
Our goal is to offer help where it’s most impactful—and that starts with meeting the basic needs in the communities where we live and work. We support events that contribute to a strong social fabric and we donate to causes that struggle to find funding through traditional means. And, we’re committed to developing future community leaders. We are proud to support a diverse range of causes in our community, including Nightshift Street Ministries, Gathering Markit, Archway Community Services—and many more.
